Hackathons

Marshall Wace is committed to nurturing the next generation of students, those who may bring new perspectives and insights into the industry. As such, we are an active sponsor of hackathons. These are events that bring communities together to learn coding skills and inspire entrepreneurship in high impact areas.

To date, we have been proud sponsors of IC Hack, Hack Cambridge, NUS Hack ‘n Roll, DurHack, DivHacks, Do you have the GUTs? and Hack the Burgh. As we are always looking for future hackathons to engage with, we welcome student organisers to reach out to us for partnerships.

Society Events

We are proud to be an active sponsor of various university societies in both Tech and Quant domains. We believe these platforms provide an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their entrepreneurial spirit and innovative thinking.

We have had the privilege of sponsoring a number of university societies to date, largely focused on Algorithmic Trading or Computing. These societies play a crucial role in nurturing the innovative and entrepreneurial skills of students, providing them with a platform to explore their interests and, develop their skills.

With all societies that we sponsor we strive to host at least one event per calendar year to better introduce the business and give us a chance to speak with students.

Introduction to Quant Investing Talks

Every year, Marshall Wace is proud to host a series of talks at select universities, aimed at providing a comprehensive introduction to the roles of Quant Research and Quant Implementation specialists. These talks are exclusively open to Masters and PhD students of STEM subjects attending the respective universities.

The sessions include a general introduction to the field, an overview of how Marshall Wace stands out in the industry, and typically feature alumni of the respective universities sharing their experiences and insights.

These talks typically take place in October. Details about the upcoming talks, when available, will be posted below. Please note that the location and finer details will be confirmed shortly before the event.

Registering for the event does not guarantee attendance, as venues have strict limits. We encourage interested students to register early and look forward to meeting the innovative and entrepreneurial minds that will shape the future of the industry. Also, please note that by sharing your details when registering for an event, you are agreeing to our privacy policy.
